2018 - What's Happening - 2018

Welcome to our place as we enter this New Year!  We wish you a blessed and prosperous year ahead.

Time goes on whether we wish it to or not.  God is still in control and doesn't consult our calendar.  He is infinite and forever, so it's hard for us to comprehend since we check our calendars daily for appointments, birthdays, anniversaries and our "Reminder" notes.  What a Mighty God we serve!  He is our Creator and doesn't need us, but we surely need Him!  His Love extends Grace and Mercy to our  faltering footsteps and makes us into what we were created to be when we trust Him.

The beginning of this new year finds troubles the world over; and if we saw only from that perspective, we would feel hopeless.  But we can trust that God's creative hand is always at work in our lives and will ultimately bring us into His presence where His plans and actions will be victorious.

We at Faith Tabernacle look forward to a wonderful year with God leading and performing His perfect will.  Our staff is excited to see what He will bring to pass in this new empty calendar hanging on our wall.  We would love to welcome you to join us in this adventure!  We look forward to seeing you in our congregation.  Come and worship with us as we watch and wait for our Lord's imminent return.

Our Standard still:

"On Christ, the Solid Rock, we stand.  All other ground is sinking sand."

Pastor Jerry starts the year off right with a birthday!  His birthday is January 16, but our congregation gathered in the fellowship hall after morning worship service on Sunday, January 14, to celebrate a few days early since we were all together.  Pictures below.

Aubree just wanted to stand with Sisters Lee Rainey, Laurie Baker and Mary King.

Evelyn and Makayla were really birthday girls.

Pastor Jerry joined the birthday ladies.

Sister Lorinda had a birthday February 2, and they found themselves in Florida attending a church conference including a revival and an elders' meeting.  Since Brother Jerry is an elder, he was required to be present.  Their daughter, Karen, and son-in-law, Ken Jacobs, also attended and were able to honor Sister Lorinda with an impromptu celebration of her birthday.  After they returned home, the church was able to have a belated celebration in the fellowship hall.

Happy Birthday, Sister Lorinda!

Margaret O'Dell

Our hearts were saddened at the loss of one of our beloved sisters on January 24, 2018.

Sister Margaret O'Dell left us after a lengthy illness.  She was faithful in attendance as long as she was able even though she required a walker and her hearing loss was severe.  She will be missed by our congregation.

E a s t e r

Instead of  Sunday  School, the church met in the fellowship hall for a while before church.  We visited and remembered that the day was a celebration of our Lord's Resurrection.  Pastor Jerry and  Sister Lorinda had prepared coffee and donuts.  Lots of filled plastic eggs were brought by our folks for distribution after church.

We had a great service with our talented musicians and singers and an anointed sermon by Pastor Jerry.  We appreciated all the visitors for the Easter service.

See "Videos 10" for some of the music.  To visit other pages, see "Menu" at the top of the page.

We have wonderful fellowship with each other at Faith Tabernacle!

Mother's Day

Faith Tabernacle appreciates all of our mothers who perform that special role in any form, birth mothers, adopted mothers, and those of any other forms of Motherhood who are nurturing our children, teaching them about their Heavenly Father's care and love for them.  Pastor Jerry and Sister Lorinda always honor the mothers with a gift, and have their pictures taken.  We wanted to share a collage of our lovely ladies on Mother's Day at Faith Tabernacle.

This is our "church Mother" and we want to show our appreciation for her who not is only is a mother her self and who actively "mothers" our congregation, but wears so many "church hats" in addition, filling in wherever she is needed.  Thank you, Sister Lorinda!

She is holding a fun thing that she and Pastor Jerry did for the mothers:  The church was giving them a "Payday" (candy bar), and the payday consisted of "100 Grand" and then gave it to them in candy bar equity.  Pastor has a sense of humor as everyone knows.  Sister Lorinda is also holding a tote bag like each lady received of the design of their choosing in which to tote their "treasure."

At our July Sunday night Service, we were blessed to have our General Overseer, Rev. Jay Walden, as guest speaker.  He preached an inspiring message and then stayed for our Food and Fellowship after church.  Also attending were a former General Overseer, Rev. Fred Cornelius and his wife Mary (Pastor Jerry's sister) as well as other visiting ministers and friends.  Rev. Walden and Rev. Cornelius blessed us with music and song (videos below).

Our thanks to all who prepared food and assisted with serving and clean-up.
