October 11, 2020

At  Sunday Morning  Service

Pastor Jerry shared some thoughts on a current event  that we would like to share at  this important  time --  Election of President our Country which affects every person in the USA.  His comments are after Sister Lorinda's song and Pastor's prayer.  Please take time to listen.

Sister Lorinda had a birthday February 2, which happened to fall on Sunday this year.  Since we have food and fellowship on the first Sunday after morning worship, birthday activities were added to help her celebrate.

Her daughter, Karen, led the congregation in a birthday song and she gave a testimony afterward.

Our hearts were broken again when we lost another precious person from our midst.  A brother who had suffered for a long time, but remained faithful to attend when he was able.  Brother Joseph King  was loved by all and will be missed.  His funeral was on February 3, obituary below.

Joseph Albet King, Jr.

September 26, 1939 - Januaury 31, 2020

Joseph A. King, age 80, of Lincoln Park, Michigan.  Beloved husband of Mary A. King.  Loving Father of Larry (Janet) King, Dwayne (Sharon) King and John (Denise) King.  Dear grandfather of Joseph (Stephanie), Kristina, Holly (Robert), Amy, Billy, Danielle, Joseph (Leeza), Jon (Krina) and Justin (Rae).  Dearest great grandfather of Rachael, Sean, Hailey, Brian Jr., Katilyn, Aubree, Ava, Khloe, Lucas and LJ.  He is survived by his siblings Noah (Money), Robert (Patricia0, Les (Patricia), Gloria (Bill) and Reva.  He is preceeded in death by his parents, Joseph and Goldie King; sisters, Eula and Sarah.

Since Valentine's Day is close, Pastor Jerry and Sister Lorinda had gifts for the couple that had been married the longest.

It was determined that Bro. Jim and Sis. Judy Carter were the winners--52 Years!

They were given some gifts to commemorate the occasion.

We celebrated his 88th birthday with the youth on Wednesday night, March 5.  Brother Baker is a wonderful supporter of our church and youth programs.  We appreciate him!  He wears many hats from Sunday School Superintendent to handy man.
